Content	The DVD series has been created by internationally acclaimed specialists and introduces all the essential fundamentals, models and measures of modern explosion protection. It is aimed at safety specialists and those carrying responsibility for safety in industry and trade as well as instructors at educational establishments and institutes. VIDEO 1 Risk analysis is the prerequisite for an efficiently applied explosion protection, above all in the case of new developments, process modifications and new production locations. The basic data and safety characteristics in the analyzed process form the foundation of the analysis. A case study is used to illustrate the systematic procedure of risk analysis in practice, further; the performance of laboratory tests to determine the characteristics is demonstrated. VIDEO 2 The goal of the preventive protection is to eliminate with certainty at least one of the three prerequisite for an explosion: the flammable material, oxygen or the ignition source. This DVD introduces the possible protective measures by way of experiments and their practical application: natural or forced ventilation, evacuation and inerting, avoidance of effective ignition sources, as well as further technical and organizational measures. VIDEO 3 If an explosion cannot be excluded with certainty despite preventive measures, the vessel and the plant items must be safeguarded through explosion-resistant construction, explosion venting or explosion suppression in combination with explosion isolation. Animated sequences and tests on a 1:1 scale show the mode of action of the constructional protective measures. Their practical application is illustrated using installations from widely different industrial branches.
